If you've recently decided to buy an RV, you may be a bit overwhelmed by just how many options there are on the market. To help you figure out which model may be right for you, we’ve placed all of the options available into a few simple categories below. To learn more about each RV, their unique features, and which model may be best for you, feel free to read through our article.

Motorhomes

Motorhomes are RVs that contain their own engines, meaning they don't require a tow vehicle to get around. While it’s nice not to have to haul your model from point A to point B, maintenance fees for these RVs can be pricey due to the complicated components of their engines. Motorhomes are typically broken into 3 classes: A, B, and C, with A being the largest motorhome on the market and B being the smallest.

If you’re interested in luxury and comfort in an RV, then a class-A motorhome is your best option. However, if you’re more concerned with convenience, a class-B motorhome may be the better choice. These models are perfect for navigating narrow parking spots or difficult city traffic, and have plenty of space for one to two travelers. If neither of these options sounds quite right, a class-C motorhome may be a good compromise. While not as large as class-A models, these motorhomes come with a lofted bed to make room for extra amenities and passengers.

Campers

Much like the motorhome category above, the camper category also includes 3 different RV models. However, unlike a motorhome, a camper requires a hitch and tow vehicle to get from place to place. While travel trailers are considered the smallest options among camper models, these RVs actually come in quite a wide range of sizes and styles, making it easy to find one that fits your needs.

The other two models in this category, fifth wheels and toy haulers, don’t tend to vary in size at all. Most models on the market are very large in order to provide plenty of passenger space and helpful amenities. If you have a tow vehicle that can handle the weight of these campers, they’re a great luxury option for camping and long-distance travel! Toy haulers even have an extra storage space in the back to allow you to travel with various vehicles or extra gear.
